Button cell battery cross-reference chart

Each row is one physical size. Codes on the same row fit the same device: the silver oxide SR cell (with its three-digit number such as 377) and the cheaper alkaline LR / AG cell. Silver oxide is the better choice for watches and anything precise.

How button cell codes work

SR = silver oxide (1.55 V), LR = alkaline (1.5 V); the digits after SR or LR give diameter and height (SR626 = 6.8 mm × 2.6 mm). SW on the end means low drain (analog watches) and W high drain (digital watches with lights and alarms). AG numbers are an alkaline shorthand: AG13 is the LR44, AG4 the LR626. Three-digit codes (377, 364, 357) are the Energizer / Renata style names for the silver oxide cells.

The single most common watch battery is the 377 (SR626SW); the most common calculator and toy cell is the LR44.
