392 battery (SR41)
SR41: 1.55 V silver oxide button cell, 7.9 mm × 3.6 mm, about 45 mAh (70 mWh). Same battery: SR736. Also fits: LR41.
1.55 Vvoltage
7.9 mmdiameter, 0.311 in
3.6 mmthick, 0.142 in
≈ 45 mAhcapacity
SR41: what to know
- It is the silver oxide version of the LR41 / AG3 used in stick thermometers, and gives steadier readings near the end of its life.
SR41 equivalents
SR736
- 392: SR41W
- 384: SR41SW
- AG3: alkaline
- LR41: alkaline
Can I use another battery instead of an SR41?
| Battery | Size | Volts | Works? | Why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LR41 | 7.9 mm × 3.6 mm | 1.5 V | Yes | Same size; alkaline is cheaper but fades sooner. |
| LR726 | 7.9 mm × 2.6 mm | 1.5 V | Short-term | 1 mm thinner: may sit loose; fine short-term. |
| SR726SW | 7.9 mm × 2.6 mm | 1.55 V | Short-term | 1 mm thinner: may sit loose; fine short-term. |
| SR731SW | 7.9 mm × 3.1 mm | 1.55 V | Short-term | 0.5 mm thinner: may sit loose; fine short-term. |
| Size 312 | 7.9 mm × 3.6 mm | 1.45 V | No | Zinc-air cells need air holes; not for sealed devices. |
What uses an SR41 battery?
- Digital thermometers
- Watches
- Laser pointers and small lights
392 = low drain (analog watches), 384 = high drain (digital, backlights). Same 7.9 mm × 3.6 mm cell; either works in most watches.
Alkaline version: LR41 (AG3), about 35 mAh vs 45 mAh; cheaper but its voltage sags.
